Past MusicTakeMe Jams

My life is made up of tunes, books, yarn, and Diet Coke I graduated in 2012 from Washington College, where I majored in English and minored in Creative Writing and History. After college, I bounced between jobs before finding myself at a local publishing company where I help to cultivate a reading community. I am surrounding by books every day, so there are many things to love about what I do. But my heart remains here with my music.

I was born, raised, and continue to live in Maryland where everyone, except for me, eats crabs and puts Old Bay on everything.

As a writer, I tried my hand at poetry and fiction before settling into the type of creative non-fiction I do now.

When I'm not working or writing, I binge watch TV shows like a pro. In the summer, I take over Baltimore and support my O's, and in the winter I watch a lot of men's figuring skating. 6.0 for the tight pants!

But why music?

We are constantly changing. The people around us come and go, and our relationships with these people change. We adapt to new interests and passions. Places change until they are no longer the places we remember.  It’s important to have constants, faith in something that can withstand the ever-changing world we live in.

For me, it was music. Certainly, the types of music to which I listened varied through time, but music itself had always been there, threading its way into every story I told. Music became the vehicle for me to reveal my heart. I listened to the playlist of my life and I wrote.

And I haven't stopped listening.

Thank you for taking a look at my little section of the internet. I hope you like what you see.
