Where Have I Been?

My world has been quiet of late.
If you're here on the early end of this being posted, you probably know that my blog MusicTakeMe had a different home on the internet. Almost an entire year ago now, I took the space down and started the huge project of creating a new and improved place for my writing. Imagine spring cleaning AND moving at the same time.
For the first part of the transition, it was like reliving all those concerts and experiences over again. That was the fun part, and relatively easy. But the reflections, the analyses, the personal experiences good and bad - those were the tough ones. And somewhere along the line, my drive stalled.
The truth is, my drive had been falling flat even before I took the blog down. I had always been a sporadic blogger, but I would go entire months between posts towards the end there. That was one of the reasons I wanted to revamp this space! I had so many ideas, and I wanted the website to match my vision.
Then life happened and my brain was in too many places, and music fell by the wayside.
It seemed to be one thing after another. So much had changed.
Where once my iTunes did not know any state other than master shuffle, it now has been reloaded onto my newest computer with only the three or so songs I've purchased in the months since I've had it to keep it company. I keep telling myself I'll update it when I have time, but I never do. And, my car, the place that once was my private jam session, is now more accustomed to the skip button than the volume controls. I'm not sure I'll ever get to the perfection of my playlists from college,though not from lack of trying.
As I say in my About section: I haven't stopped listening. So I'm here, and it's time to bring my voice back to the internet. I've been ready for this for a long time. I have new records, new songs, new thoughts to share! And I am overwhelmingly excited for you to see what I've put together.
